C+C Serum

$25.00

An antioxidant powerhouse with 15% vitamin C in a feather-light, water-free formula.

Brighten, smooth, and firm your skin with a daily antioxidant boost. This powerful serum features 10% ascorbic acid (the pure form of vitamin C) plus 5% ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate (an oil-soluble vitamin C derivative). We added some CoQ10 for good measure and put it all in a water-free formula to protect these potent but fragile antioxidants.

1 fl.oz./ 30ml

Brighten up and smooth out with two types of vitamin C.

Rich Vitamin E oil is added to boost the antioxidant impact of this lightweight serum.

Ascorbic acid

Highly potent antioxidant that helps prevent premature aging by neutralizing free radicals caused by UV damage, pollution, and other sources.

Ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate

Oil-soluble derivative of vitamin C that penetrates skin deeply to fight free radicals, boost collagen production, and brighten skin tone.

CoQ10

Powerful antioxidant that’s found naturally in the skin. CoQ10 levels decrease with age, so skincare featuring this ingredient has anti-aging benefits.

Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane, L-Ascorbic Acid, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, HDI/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Polysilicone-11, Dimethicone/Bis-Isobutyl PPG20 Crosspolymer, Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate, Squalane, Tocopherol, Ubiquinone, Bisabolol, Silica

How it works

Vitamin C is one of the most powerful skincare ingredients you can get without a prescription. It can:

• Scavenge and neutralize free radicals

•Increase collagen production

• Fade hyperpigmentation

However, the form of vitamin C that’s easiest for your skin to use, L-ascorbic acid, is also extremely unstable, breaking down quickly when exposed to water, heat, or light. That’s why most vitamin C serums turn orange and need to be replaced often.

C+C Serum uses 10% L-ascorbic acid, and to keep it safe, we’ve suspended it in a lightweight silicone formula away from water, heat, and light. That means it’s stable on your shelf for a full year. We also added 5% ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, an oil-soluble form of vitamin C.

To up the ante, we added another incredibly powerful antioxidant, Coenzyme Q10 (otherwise known as ubiquinone) to make sure no free radical is left un-scavenged. Bisabolol, a key component of German chamomile, helps soothe and calm skin.

Put it all together and you’re left with an incredibly potent yet non-irritating antioxidant serum to help brighten, smooth, and firm your skin.

C+C Serum does not have a pH because it’s an anhydrous (water-free) product.

Is it right for me?

We chose C+C's vitamin C percentages to hit that sweet spot: effective but not irritating. That means it's perfect for even sensitive skin. Since C+C Serum's silicone base evaporates away, it's lightweight, non-greasy, and suitable for all skin types.

Due to the nature of C+C Serum’s silicone base, it’s important to apply the product to clean, dry skin and wait a few minutes before applying your next product. Layering other products without allowing C+C’s base to evaporate can cause pilling or balling of product.

All Stratia products are free of common irritants like fragrance, alcohol, and essential oils.

stable but effective Vit C

This is a 15% Vitamin C serum (10% ascorbic acid, 5% ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate) with CoQ10 in a stabilized (YES!) water-free, lightweight formula. It claims to brighten, smooth and firm skin with a daily antioxidant boost. I’ve gone through several vitamin C serums, and I’m really enjoying this formula — it’s a creamy serum that just glides on. The Vit C is suspended in silicones that evaporate (within a minute or two before your next step); you can actually feel it leaving an elegant, semi-matte finish with a lovely skinfeel and a good prep for makeup if you’re applying it later on. Plus it doesn’t have any of the funky scents associated with Vitamin C (no hotdog water, no metallic tang). It plays well with the rest of my morning routine too. So far this is the highest percentage of Vitamin C I’ve tried because my seb derm hotspots typically sting when I apply Vit C, so I’ve been pausing Vit C when I get bad flareups. With the Stratia C+C serum however I’ve experienced zero irritation from Day 1. Since I’ve slotted it in, I’ve finally seen improvement in PIH I’ve been trying to fade for months, and I can feel it giving me more elasticity with each application. Plus it seems to have curtailed the freckles I’ve been getting on my cheeks. This is good value for an elegantly formulated Vitamin C serum that gives me no issues, and the first one I know I’ll repurchase off the bat.

I love this serum. I use it every night. I goes on like silk, glides over the skin, and is absorbed immediately.

weird texture?

It's prob just a personal thing because I'm really finicky, but the texture of this serum feels really odd on my skin. I haven't noticed a change since I started using it either. But I love my other stratia products.
