We took the power of our beloved Lipid Gold ceramide moisturizer’s formula and increased the ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids to help strengthen and protect the uniquely thin skin around the eyes. The formula also features some new additions like algae extract and chrysin as dark circles under eyes treatment, two new peptides to increase skin firmness, and occlusives to help lock in moisture to prevent transepidermal water loss (TEWL).

Science & Key Ingredients
Your skin’s moisture barrier (the stratum corneum, or outermost layer of the epidermis) has a bricks-and-mortar structure. The bricks are flat, dead skin cells called corneocytes, and the mortar is a fatty mixture made up of ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids. This mixture keeps your skin healthy, clear, and resilient.
The skin around your eyes is the thinnest skin on your body and needs extra support. Lipid Gold Eye Cream is formulated with even more ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids to mimic and strengthen your natural moisture barrier. The formula is richer than the original Lipid Gold formula to lock in more moisture in this sensitive area to prevent transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
Lipid Gold Eye Cream is also formulated to help get rid of dark circles under eyes. One of the major causes of dark circles is pigment pooling beneath the skin. Your eye area is highly vascular, and the pigment that makes blood red can actually break down and accumulate there. Since the skin is so thin, that pigment shows up more clearly. Chrysin, N-Hydroxysuccinimide, and algae extract (fucus vesiculosus) help flush out that accumulated pigment to brighten the skin around the eyes.
How To Apply Lipid Gold Eye Cream:
- Pump a small amount of Lipid Gold Eye Cream the size of a chocolate chip onto the pad of your ring finger.
- Next, spread between the two pads of your ring fingers.
- Gently apply with your ring fingers to the areas directly below, to the outside, and above your eyes (spread, don't rub).
- If you want, gently pat and press the skin to help it soak in and increase circulation. Allow eye cream to soak in fully before applying makeup.

I am so, so excited that Lipid Gold Eye Cream is finally here. It’s been a hard secret to keep.
As the formulator as well as the founder of Stratia, I want to give you a behind-the-scenes look at creating this product. It was the first formula I’ve ever made that was based on an existing formula (the original Lipid Gold), which presented its own set of challenges but was actually really fun.
I knew for a long time I wanted to make an eye cream, but I needed to make something that actually provides lasting benefits for the eye area, not just temporary tightening or plumping.
I realized that the same reason I originally formulated Lipid Gold (to mimic and strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier) was doubly important for the eye area, which has such thin skin and is subject to so much skin irritation throughout the day.
Since the skin is so much thinner, strengthening it would have to be that much stronger, so I dramatically increased the concentration of ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids compared to the original Lipid Gold formula.
The skin around eyes is more prone to losing moisture (transepidermal water loss), so I added occlusive ingredients and made the whole formula richer to help lock in moisture and keep the skin hydrated.
Finally, I got to play with some incredible eye-specific active ingredients. After lots of experimenting, I decided to focus on fading dark circles under eyes and firming the skin. Lipid Gold Eye Cream features three ingredients that help clear out pigment that leaks from the capillaries and accumulates under the eyes, thus helping to fade dark circles. I also added two powerful peptides that have been shown to increase firmness and decrease the appearance of fine lines with collagen production.
While this eye cream may have started from the Lipid Gold formula, it’s gone through prototype after prototype, test after test, to make sure it’s exactly what the unique skin around the eyes needs.
