Soft Touch AHA
A hyper-gentle, highly effective exfoliant to reveal smoother, clearer skin.
Get the skin-clearing power of alpha hydroxy acids without the irritation. It’s fortified with skin-soothers like chamomile, aloe, and allantoin to keep your skin calm and healthy.
Clear, brighten, and firm, without the irritation.
Chamomile extract is blended in to provide a soothing, calming counterpoint to this resurfacing treatment.
Gently sloughs off dead skin, stimulates collagen production, and fades dark spots, with minimal irritation.
A potent skin-soother and antioxidant that fights irritation, redness, and inflammation.
Soothes, heals, and moisturizes while stimulating cell regeneration. Highly effective and well-studied.
Water (Aqua), Mandelic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Panthenol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Matricaria Recutita (Chamomile) Flower Extract, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Sodium Hydroxide, Diazolidinyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate
How it works
Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are skincare powerhouses. They dissolve the intercellular “glue” between dead cells on the surface of your skin, revealing the smooth, bright skin underneath.
Many AHAs can cause significant irritation and redness, especially to those with sensitive skin. Mandelic acid is the exception: it is a much larger molecule than glycolic acid, so it doesn’t penetrate the skin as deeply and causes less irritation.
Mandelic acid can increase cell turnover, fade hyperpigmentation, stimulate collagen production, and firm aging skin. Soft Touch AHA has 10% mandelic acid, along with skin-soothers like aloe, chamomile, and allantoin to give you bright, smooth skin with the least amount of irritation possible. Its light gel formula dries quickly and can be used under makeup and other skincare products.
Is it right for me?
Soft Touch AHA is suitable for a wide variety of skin types, and is especially suited to sensitive skin. To avoid over-exfoliating, it's best to use Soft Touch AHA once every 2-3 days until your skin adjusts, at which point it can be used daily. Like all AHAs, Soft Touch can be photosensitizing, so always use broad-spectrum sun protection when using this product.
NUT ALLERGY CAUTION: Please note that mandelic acid is derived from almonds. Check with your doctor before using.
All Stratia products are free of common irritants like fragrance, alcohol, and essential oils.

I have suffered from acne for about 20 years since I was in my teens. It wasn't until 7 years ago when I finally found a regimen that cleared my skin with the help of an esthetician. Every single day, I was diligent with cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing my skin with the Jan Marini and Vivant products that she recommended me. I don't ever go on a day without putting on my sunscreen. I was finally enjoying a clear complexion until about one year ago, my face started getting these itchy, stubborn pimples that just would not go away. They looked like pimples, but they did not feel the same as the acne that I used to get before. All of a sudden, my HG AHA/BHA and BP had no effects on these itchy little guys. In fact, these itchy little bumps started spreading on my face even more with my usual products. I went back to my old esthetician, and she only recommended more products that ended up drying out my already damaged skin. I tried a new esthetician, and as soon as I left her clinic my face started to itch with the products she put on my face. In my desperation, I found a website called simpleskincarescience.com, and I learned for the first time a condition called malassezia, aka fungal acne. I learned that conventional treatments that works on bacterial acne often are not effective against fungal acne. Also, malassezia loves feeding on oils, esters, polysorbates, etc. I started studying ingredients that I should avoid and ingredients that I needed to look for, and I could not believe how difficult it was to find good effective skincare, especially exfoliants, that does not contain oils, esters, and polysorbates. I also prefer to stay clear of fragrances and drying alcohol, but these preferences made my search almost impossible... until I found Stratia Soft Touch AHA. After days and days of looking at skincare products and ingredients, I almost heard trumpets and music in my ears when I read Stratia AHA's ingredients list. Not only does it have 10% mandelic, it has propylene glycol, aloe, and urea, which are powerhouses to fight malassezia! I also loved seeing panthenol, sodium hyluronate, and allantoin on the lists. PLUS there was no drying alcohol or fragrances!!!!!!!!!! I could not order fast enough. It has been one month now that I have been on a completely new skin regimen which is free of malassezia-feeding ingredients, and I am happy to report that I have not had any new acne- fungal or bacterial. Of all the new products that I use now, I would to say Stratia Soft Touch AHA is probably THE ONE product that makes the most difference on my skin. Not only is it effective against acne, it brightens up my skin tone, and helps with the hyperpigmentation that the acne left behind. I will never look back to the overpriced, oil/alcohol/polysorbate/fragrance-laden products of my past. Thank you, Stratia, for being such a terrific product. Please don't ever stop making it or change its ingredients! It's PERFECT the way it is!
Wow this product! I have struggled for the last year with the worst skin of my life after coming off the pill and tried so many products and NOTHING WORKED. I was seriously ready to give up hope of ever clearing my skin especially of the awful texture I had caused by closed comedones. Then I found this product and noticed a huge change after about 2 weeks or so, and by four weeks in (now) my skin is glowing and I’m not spending forty minutes doing my makeup every day and wanting to die every time I catch my reflection throughout the day. I have a few hyperpigmentation scars but they’re fading too. I purged maybe a little but nothing terrible. THIS RULES!
I don't have particularly sensitive skin, but have had stinging from previous AHA products. Or at the least, they never made my skin feel GOOD. But this one does, and unless someone gives me a really good reason to try another one, I'm not switching up. My skin feels super clean, and taut but not tight after I use it. My only qualm is the fact this product is more packaging - it crystallizes at the pump nozzle and blocks it every now and again. The first time I tried pressing the pump down, it splattered everywhere when it finally came out. I've been covering it with my hand when this happens ever since.
My skin is sensitive and I have had issues with my skin integrity, particularly around my nose. I cannot recommend this AHA enough to someone who wants to incorporate an acid into their routine, but has similar skincare issues. This AHA is gentle yet effective! I always have an extra glow after using the Soft Touch AHA the night before. When used in conjunction with other Stratia products, particularly Liquid Gold, incorporating an acid into your routine becomes less intimidating (especially for someone with sensitivity/skin barrier issues) and incredibly easy.
The first exfoliator I’ve had that hasn’t ravaged my sensitive skin! When I’m good and consistent with alternating this and my retinoid, my skin glows and is very even. I suffer from a lot of inflammation and tend toward mild rosacea. This doesn’t agitate the condition.
