Science & Key Ingredients.
Your skin is made up of three layers: the thin, protective epidermis; the dermis providing structural integrity and nutrients to the epidermis; and the hypodermis, connecting the skin to the fat and muscle below.
The middle layer, the dermis, is most responsible for the visible signs of aging. It contains structural proteins like collagen and elastin, which keep skin bouncy, firm, and wrinkle-free. As we age and spend time in the sun, these proteins break down, which leads to wrinkles and sagging skin.
Retinol penetrates deep in your skin to unwind the visible effects of aging by stimulating new collagen production in the dermis. It also protects your collagen from degrading, and helps remove broken elastin fibers. Retinol also increases cell turnover in the outer layers of your skin, helping to fade dark spots and improve skin texture.
For all its excellent qualities, retinol can be fairly irritating, so we’ve included some powerful skin-soothers to counteract that side effect. Ceramides, panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), and centella asiatica (cica) all work to moisturize, calm, and protect your skin. Squalane and marula oils provide deep hydration and antioxidant benefits.
Night Shift is vegan and cruelty-free. All Stratia products are free of common irritants like fragrance, alcohol, and essential oils.
HOW TO USE

Night Shift is formulated for all skin types. It’s deeply moisturizing but non-greasy, so it can be used on both very dry and very oily skin. While Night Shift is particularly gentle, retinol can cause irritation, so we recommend introducing Night Shift to your routine gradually. Like all retinol products, Night Shift is NOT recommended for those who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.

How should I use Night Shift?
This is a night cream, so it should be the last step of your evening routine. Night Shift was formulated to be used every night. However, if you are new to retinols or are introducing this product into your routine for the first time, we would recommend using it 1-3x a week to start.
Can I mix other products with this?
It's fine to mix other hydrating/emollient/occlusive ingredients with it, but we don't recommend mixing other potentially irritating actives like AHAs, BHAs, and other retinoids.
What percent retinol is Night Shift?
Night Shift has 0.15% retinol. Due to encapsulation, this retinol can reach the right location at the right time, allowing for a milder retinol percentage and increased results.
Is this vegan?
Yes! Night Shift does contain cholesterol, but it's a vegan plant-derived cholesterol. It's part of the ceramide mixture we use.
Is this safe to use while pregnant/breastfeeding?
We don't recommend using any retinoids while pregnant or breastfeeding.
